“When I was a performer I traveled all over the world searching for the ideal place to fly. And now I have found it!”
The Trapeze Beach Camp is a program for everyone who ever had a dream to fly! We’ve created a unique, group experience in a new venue for aerial arts. The camp is designed to be fun and enjoyable, while allowing you the opportunity to experience and perform on trapeze, aerial ring, bungee and other various aerial apparatus in an idyllic setting on the Australian East Coast. The program focuses on movement, dance and personal expression in the air.
In the Trapeze Beach Camp you will learn:
- How to move naturally in the air.
- How to relate to the apparatus.
- How to unlock your emotions.
- The fundamentals of aerial choreography.
- How to tell stories in the air.
All in the most beautiful surroundings you can imagine, under the personal guidance of Olga Sidorova.
Our sessions concentrate on three areas, tailored for your particular level, whether beginner or professional, and culminate in an optional photo shoot or video. These areas are:
Equipment
There are many professional performers who never learn this because they are only taught technique and tricks. But at DITA we believe you can progress faster and further if you learn how to connect to the equipment.
Movement
We focus on how to communicate with your body, the goal being to tell a story in the air. Specifically DITA teaches artists how to move upside down, because this is something non-aerialists never had to learn.
Emotion
We focus on telling stories. The key to telling stories is unlocking yourself and showing your audience how you feel. It is amazing how a performance can change simply by telling a performer to dress a certain way, or play certain music, or imagine her lover is standing below. Emotion is the final key to the evolution of a story and it is the difference between simply being an athlete and being an artist.
We hope you will enjoy your experience here and learn to express yourself to your full potential!
